What’s For Dinner? Fried Pig Brain!

I’m happy to report that fried pig brain tastes a lot like scrambled eggs.  When it landed on my dinner table two nights ago in that bowl, it was flavored with lots of pepper and salt.  It was soft and easily chewed, just like scrambled eggs.

We had other food along with the pig brains, but as you know, I like to point out the more exciting dishes.

It seems no part of a dead animal goes to waste in Cambodia.  I think this is somehow related to Buddhism and the belief in reincarnation.  People don’t want to kill something unless they’re going to really use every bit of it.  And, the head of an animal is especially important.

My host mother laughed at the dance my eyes did as she told me what she was serving.  This isn’t a common dish at our dinner table, but a rare treat.

Can’t believe you are able to eat and enjoy all these many “different” foods. I certainly respect their objective to use all parts of the animal, but I would definitely have to pass on this one. Love, Kaki
