January Mail: Christmas Cheer

Christmas treats from my Grandma “Mema”, Aunt Cathy and Aunt Sandy have made my life a little more exciting this week.  Thank you!

As of Fall 2011, all the Peace Corps mail from the capital gets delivered to my Peace Corps friend Kyle’s apartment in Siem Reap.  My mail has been there since before Christmas but I hadn’t had a chance to bike the boxes back to Puok.  Plus, that would’ve taken three trips.

Luckily, Kyle and another friend brought the boxes by my house on their way through Puok last week.  The delay is my fault, not the system’s.

Thank you for the letters Aunt Diane and Cathy (Cathy I just now received your letters from June and October 2011!).  It’s been great to hear details of your lives.  I’ll keep those in a special spot forever because they’re like history books of our daily lives.

I’m sure that with Facebook and email, by the time you get my letters, you already know everything that I have written. I’ve been on my genealogy kick again, and I have come across some mail, one letter that was over 100 years old. It is so interesting to see how the times have changed. :)
    Love you!

Great news that you got all the mail! We are on our way to Tulsa this morning to help Phil’s mom move from her assisted living apartment into a long term care room. At 97, she is doing well, but just requires more help than can be provided in assisted living. Love you. Kaki
